Weeklong Deals for 9/16/19

I’m usually pretty chill about Weeklong Deals but this time you really need to sit up and take notice. There are some fantastic games discounted this week that don’t come around often, along with fan-favorites like Reventure and LOGistICAL, and curiosities like Nantucket and Troubleshooter. I guarantee there are some good titles hidden down here amidst the hentai puzzles and programmer-art platformers… they’re just getting harder to fish out.

Yes, YES, YES

Eastshade (Review) – Explore a gorgeous world, paint portraits, and help the lovely animal people without a hint of combat or violence

Banished (Review) – A pretty stressful dark ages city builder that gets much more chill once you figure out the resource flow

Crypt of the NecroDancer (Review) – The best roguelike you will ever be terrible at because you can’t think fast enough to keep up with the killer beats

Big Pharma (Review) – A solid management sim where you develop drugs and then work out the Rube Goldberg production lines to produce them

Detention (Review) – Haunting, thoughtful horror adventure set during the revolution in Taiwan

Odallus: The Dark Call (Review) – One of the best retro platformers on Steam, in the vein of classic Castlevania

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (Review) – A hugely-improved version of the original that alleviates all the complaints I had

This Strange Realm Of Mine (Review) – A unique and fascinating mix of retro FPS action, exploration, and dreamlike landscapes

Ash of Gods: Redemption (Review) – Absolutely brutal dark fantasy RPG built in the Banner Saga engine

The Cat Lady (Review) – Excellent horror adventure that touches on some very tough subjects

Death Coming (Review) – Charming little puzzler about claiming the lives of adorable ittle people

Hexcells (Review) – Extremely sharp puzzle game that pushes its concept to brilliant limits

Hexcells Plus (Review) – Still quite good, but pushes the difficulty far past that of the original

9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek (Review) – Kitschy little hidden object game that captures the magic of a Sunday afternoon B-horror movie

RymdResa (Review) – Very chill, very weird Asteroids-style exploration roguelike

Schein (review) – Sharp puzzle platformer with a solid gimmick and some serious difficulty spikes

No, NO, NO

Tech Corp (Review) – I wish I had better news about this rich corporate simulator, but it’s too rough right now to recommend

Cities in Motion 2 (Review) – A remarkable effort to destroy the legacy of Cities in Motion

Hero of the Kingdom III (Review) – A severe misstep for this otherwise wonderful series

Deadly Traps (Review) – Boring challenge platformer

Hack, Slash, Loot (review) – Absolute garbage roguelike

Canyon Capers (Review) – I hate everything about this
