Weeklong Deals for 10/4/21

Such a lean lineup of Weeklong Deals this time! I don’t know how it happens, but sometimes we only get a few hundred instead of the usual 1000+. There’s still some gems to extract from this mess, between the soothing Eastshade, the intense Project Warlock, and the endless expanses of Caves of Qud. You’ll also find some real trash, of course, which hopefully provides either a little entertainment or a cautionary tale in learning about!

GO GO

Eastshade (Review) – Peaceful Elder Scrollslike where you use painting to complete quests

Caves of Qud (review) – Possibly the deepest, most expansive roguelike in existence

Project Warlock (Review) – Extremely solid retro FPSin’

Shadowrun Returns (review) – Not as deep or balanced as the later Shadowruns, but still a good time

Book of Demons (Review) – A simple papercraft rendition of Diablo 1

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (Review) – Colorful and creative metroidvania

Sir, You Are Being Hunted (Review) – Interesting attempt at an open-world stealth game

Sproggiwood (Review) – Adorable roguelike, perfect for newcomers to the genre

Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 1 (Review) – Not as good as the original or sequel, but it works

Super 3-D Noah’s Ark (Review) – Significant novelty factor here

The Light Keeps Us Safe (Review) – Incredible atmosphere, but not much of a game beyond that

Dogolrax (Review) – Bizarrely captivating, if you have the stomach for it

OH NO

Majesty 2 (Review) – What a way for the series to go

Vambrace: Cold Soul (Review) – Ambitious strategy RPG that just never comes together

Sinking Island (Review) – The only mystery here is how this game ended up such a huge disappointment

8BitBoy (Review) – Absolutely not how to approach a platforming homage

Space Hack (Review) – Bafflingly terrible ARPG
