Weeklong Deals for 12/9/19

I know what you’re thinking. We just had the big Thanksgiving Sale, and the mega Winter Sale starts next week. So what are we doing here with these Weeklong Deals? Well, there might be some awesome deals to shine a light on, like City of Brass for a scant four bucks. There might be someone out there who’s just desperate for a new game right the hell now, and can’t hold it for another ten days. Or it might just be that these Weeklong roundups are such a habit that I can’t stop doing them. Who can say, really?
In the end, just enjoy the wall of reviews. Also we’re gonna play Frog Detective 2 tonight over on Twitch so deffo show up for that.
Maybe buy this?
Dawn of Man (Review) – Very solid village-builder set in the prehistoric era
Pillars of Eternity (Review) – Extremely dense with its writing, but otherwise a stand-out CRPG
City of Brass (Review) – Awesome first-person roguelike with excellent mobility and combat options
Shadowrun Returns (review) – More of a proof-of-concept of the games that followed, but still a fine little CRPG
Deep Sky Derelicts (Review) – Very cool sci-fi dungeon crawler with RPG card-based combat
Apsulov: End of Gods (Review) – One of the most unique first-person horror games you’re likely to skulk through
Blood and Bacon (Review) – Peak dumb fun for an arena-based FPS
The Town of Light (Review) – Quality horror walking sim that’s going to make you very, very uncomfortable
Dead Effect 2 (Review) – Middling sci-fi zombie shooter with a wild character progression system
BUTCHER (Review) – Hilariously gory, hilariously hard platform shooter
Slain: Back from Hell (Review) – Janky, challenging platformer with all the metal you can handle
FRAMED Collection (Review) – Clever noir puzzler about rotating comic panels to make stories
Submerged (Review) – Thin on gameplay, big on atmosphere
9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek (Review) – Wonderfully kitschy hidden object game
Orbt XL (Review) – Fun little arcadey thing where you try to maintain your orbit
Haunted Past: Realm of Ghosts (review) – Decent little horror hidden object joint
Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart (Review) – Bit dated but still one of the best hidden object games I’ve played
Hero of the Kingdom II (Review) – My personal favorite in this chill trading sim series
Black Paradox (Review) – Super rad retro side-scrolling shmup
Theatre Of The Absurd (Review) – Yeah, it’s pretty absurd!
Pocket Kingdom (Review) – Charming little puzzle platformer
Letter Quest (Review) – Fun but challenging typing game

Please don’t buy this.

Neverending Nightmares (review) – Great aesthetic, horribly tedious gameplay
Dead Effect (Review) – Unremarkable sci-fi zombie FPS

1 Screen Platformer (Review) – I mean, yeah, you CAN make a platformer with just one screen… but why?
Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals (Review) – Go read the comic books instead
NeverEnd (Review) – Like Isaac except devoid of anything interesting
rooMaze (Review) – Could be a cool voxel dungeon crawler if the difficulty wasn’t insane
Vertiginous Golf (Review) – Utterly joyless minigolf
Ultionus: A Tale of Petty Revenge (Review) – No.
Crab Dub (Review) – oh god i forgot all about this and now im mad again
