Weeklong Deals for 2/24/20

Get hyped for these Weeklong Deals because the headliners are definitely worth a look! Disco Elysium is simply one of the best games I played last year, Noita is one of the most fun of this year, and there’s loads of good games like SYNTHETIK and Sundered to round out the recommendations. There’s also a huge list of garbage to sift through too, some of which are pretty hilarious in their failings. Really it’s just a big ol’ week all around, whether you want to pick up something new and shiny or laugh at something old and busted.
Go for it!
Disco Elysium (Review) – The best that video game writing has ever been, full stop
SYNTHETIK (Review) – Intense top-down roguelike shooter with some amazing gun handling
Noita (Review) – Even in Early Access, platforming chaos doesn’t get much better than this
Sundered (Review) – Stylish and unique metroidvania adventure
Majesty Gold HD (Review) – Still a great hands-off kingdom management sim
Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons (Review) – Charming puzzle adventure that’s sure to tug at some heartstrings
Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart (Review) – Honestly one of my favorite hidden object games
City of Brass (Review) – Engrossing first-person roguelike with great combat and levels
BUTCHER (Review) – Gory, brutal, and a ton of fun for a platform shooter
Bit Blaster XL (Review) – Decent little arcade shmup
Chasm (Review) – A fun metroidvania, but clearly weakened by its randomized elements
Patrician IV (Review) – My personal favorite of the Patrician series and one of my favorite trading sims
Nihilumbra (Review) – Puzzle platformer where you paint things, I’ve linked it to you a million times
Submerged (Review) – Decent adventure for its environments and atmosphere, not its gameplay
Omega Strike (Review) – Solid little metroidvania with no suprises
Back to Bed (Review) – Compact puzzler with a Dali aesthetic
Wyv and Keep: The Temple of the Lost Idol (Review) – Tough but clever puzzle platformer
Cast of the Seven Godsends – Redux (Review) – I used to hate this odd platformer, but the Redux really turned it around
Get away from it!
Hard West (Review) – I want to love demonic cowboy XCOM but the combat system drives me nuts
Gray Dawn (Review) – A promising horror adventure that goes completely off the rails
Knights and Merchants (Review) – Clunky af
Diamo XL (Review) – Neat idea for arcade action, but no fun in practice
Rise of Insanity (Review) – I guarantee you have played through this first-person horror game before
8BitBoy (Review) – The worst kind of retro nostalgia
Welcome to Hanwell (Review) – Tedious and baffling
Sinking Island (Review) – Could have been a neat murder mystery if the design wasn’t terrible
Das Geisterschiff (Review) – Terribly boring sci-fi dungeon crawler
Mittelborg: City of Mages (Review) – There’s hardly anything to this one, and what is there doesn’t even work right
Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space (review) – Just… what
Megamagic: Wizards of the Neon Age (Review) – All style, no substance
The Body Changer (Review) – Almost a neat 3D metroidvania, just terminally clunky
The Outlaw, The Drunk, & The Whore (Review) – Yeahhhhhhhhh no
Haunted Hotel: Stay in the Light (Review) – Like the lamest possible survive-the-night game
